Reflexology is an ancient natural science based on the belief that each part of the body is interconnected through the nerve system to specific points on the feet and hands. A history of foot manipulation spans time and place from the Physician’s tomb in Egypt of 2300B.C. to the Physicians temple in Nara, Japan, of 700A.D. The ancient Egyptians are believed to have developed foot reflexology, with specific pressure points corresponding to parts of the body.
The goal of reflexology is to clear the pathways of energy flow throughout the body, to return body balance, and increase immune response. It does this by stimulating the lymphatic system to eliminate wastes adequately, and the blood to circulate easily. By bringing needed nutrients to poorly functioning areas, reflexology treatments can make the organs, the lymph system and the nervous system stronger and healthier.

The Client is seated in a comfortable, reclined chair or massage table. The feet are soaked, then a powder is placed on the feet. The feet are worked in conjunction to the specific systems of the body and your particular needs. For Example: The first system is the endocrine system, this work is extremely relaxing and usually brings you to the alpha state (the period before you fall into a sleep.) The alpha state is the period in which cells of the body regenerate the quickest. Treatments can last from a half hour to an hour. Pressure is dependent on the needs of the client. The treatment concludes with a relaxing massage of the feet with Aromatherapy cream.
