Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu is Japanese for finger pressure.  As a healing form of body work, Shiatsu balances the body’s energies and strengthens the internal organs.  Shiatsu works with
energy pathways known as meridians and the points that run along them.  These are the same points used in acupuncture.

Shiatsu is performed with the client lying comfortably on the floor on a mat, called a futon.  The therapist kneels next to the client while giving the treatment.

Easy fitting clothing is worn.

The treatment involves the use of finger and palm pressure to harmonize the meridians that are weak and sedate those which are over-active.  Stretching and relaxing techniques are also applied during the treatment.

A shiatsu treatment usually lasts one hour, but the effects of the
balanced energy lasts much longer.  Regular Shiatsu treatments will give you a sense of well-being for the body, mind, and spirit.

Optimal health is more than a lack of illness.  Shiatsu can help bring your body  to the  state of  balance that it was meant to be.

“Anything closely connected to true essence of life cannot be expressed quantitatively because it’s nature is qualitative, comprising sensations such as pleasantness or unpleasantness.  It is also possible to say that the true essence of life exists in the qualitative nature of meridians”
